Since it is already two weeks until Christmas (can you believe that?!!), I thought I would make one big post of most of my Christmas this year in case I get too busy to make another post before the big day. I am hoping to make a few more before then though, we will see how it goes. I have really been enjoying seeing everyone's homes decorated for the holidays. Thank you to everyone who left me such sweet comments on my last post, I truly appreciate them.
On to the tour, we will start in the living room by the fireplace,
When I put this vignette together I felt something was missing, so I added some old hymnal sheet music to the pillar candles. I love how it turned out, and it was easy and free.
I found this banner at Three French Hens. I almost didn't buy it because the letters were bright red, but I bought it anyway and went over the letters with a black permanent marker, it worked great! I then added some ribbon to the ends.
I didn't realize my kids things were peeking out of the coffee table baskets until I edited this picture! That is real life for you! Ha! And why I do love these baskets under the coffee table, they make great storage pieces.
My husband found the two reindeer for me at a hospital gift shop! I never would have thought to find something like that there. I think I shall declare Christmas 2012 at The Fancy Shack the year of the reindeer, since they seemed to find their way into the displays this year. I love them.
Here are some pictures of my half finished dining room. I still need to paint the walls, refinish the table top, paint the base of the table, install new flooring, and I am going to do something new on the wall where I put the tobacco basket for now. This will all be in conjunction with our kitchen makeover in Feb., I am so anxious to get started on it, I even had to put a little bit of ASCP white paint on one of the kitchen cabinets just for a little test area today, I'm loving it. :)
I wanted some white bottle brush trees for this cloche, but only had green with red on hand. So I flocked the green and red with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White.
