Easter Accents & Vignettes

Happy official Spring! 5 days until Easter, are you ready? Today I wanted to share some Easter accents I have in our home this year.  My children still like for me to add the classic Easter bunnies and eggs, so I try to find a balance of doing that, but in a more simple and natural way that blends in with our home.  That way everyone is happy! :)

The reproduction antique chalkware rabbits, I have had for a long time. I bought them from a decor boutique I worked at years ago. They were originally brown with rust red and yellow accents. I gave them a makeover with white chalk paint. I love how they turned out.

Another piece I gave a chalk paint makeover to, was the clock. It was originally a solid black. I used Annie Sloan Paris Grey and gold craft paint for the accents. Then sanded, clear and dark wax. I only added dark wax to the creases and accents.

I love boxwood for any time of year, it is such a versatile element to add to your decor! For spring it adds that perfect touch of fresh green. I decided to use the boxwood wreath as a layer for the chalkware rabbits and the backdrop. The old books and mercury add the mix I always love of old and new textures.

I decided to leave my white IKEA Ritva drapes up from Christmas, and I love the extra light they bring into the room! They also give me freedom to add  new patterns and colors to the room, which I plan on doing this summer.

For functionality, I prefer to use tray arrangements for my coffee table, so it is easy to remove for family game nights and childrens activities. It also helps to pull smaller pieces together without them looking scattered on the table.

This wax rabbit is one of my favorite pieces, he was made from an antique candy mold.

I added some faux mossy potted pansies for spring in the terrarium, mixed with old sheet music & books, a stone garden cherub, pheasant feathers and mercury votive.

Thank you for stopping  by to see my Easter accents for this year! I hope you have a Happy Easter!

God Bless,
